Characteristics of Tiger Lotus “Red” (Nymphaea lotus Red)
Depending on the coloration of the submerged leaves, the plants are often distinguished into "Red" and "Tiger Lotus Green", but in reality the plants delivered from the nurseries show all the transitions and shades from reddish green to red.
Tiger Lotus "Red" does not need any special requirements, but it should be planted in a free and well-lit place. Nutrient-rich substrate is very beneficial to their growth, but vigorously growing plants tend to develop long-stemmed, floating leaves, blocking light to other short plants. To prevent this, long leaves with stems should be removed as soon as possible. However, if the plant is allowed to grow with floating leaves, you can look forward to the appearance of its beautiful white, fragrant flowers that are open from late afternoon to late morning.
Tiger Lotus "Red", is delivered as a bulb that sprouts in the aquarium. A small bud appears with a rosette of rooted leaves. Later, the young seedling is detached from the bulb. Old, mature plants develop a bulb on their own.

It was a small bulb but with a very very pretty color almost purple, highly recommended even if it is small.
