Potted aquarium plant.
It comes from the south-west of India and has recently been known for aquacaping. In Europe, it is also commercially available under the name Lagenandra Meeboldii “Pink”, but differs from the plant marketed under the same name in the United States.
This Lagenandra closely resembles a medium-sized broadleaf Cryptocoryne. Under good light it has a nice orange-brown to pink color. It grows 10 to 30 cm tall and has a spreading growth habit. Also, like most cryptocorynes, it does not form underground corridors, but has a thick rhizome.

Characteristics of Lagenandra Meeboldii "Red"
This plant is native to the southern Indian states of Karnataka and Kerala on the shady banks of swampy rivers up to 1200m above sea level.
This Lagenandra is very variable, there are shapes of different sizes, leaf shapes or colors. A green and a red variety have been cultivated in botanical gardens and as paludarium plants by some hobbyists for quite some time. However, the idea that at least the red variety can be kept continuously submerged in the aquarium is quite new.
A nutrient-rich substrate is recommended for this species or adding fertilizer tablets at the base of the roots.
