Characteristics of Blyxa Japonica
Throughout its range, it can also be found in rice paddies. This species has become a very familiar plant in aquarium hobby due to its attractive, herbaceous and thick growth. In low light, it grows more spiky and greener, with a more elongated shape.
It forms beautiful grass bushes with a relatively low to medium-high height with very narrow leaves ranging from green to reddish. This species is not too difficult to maintain if it meets some basic requirements: sufficient light, CO2 supply and fertilization with nitrate, phosphate, potassium and micronutrients. In an optimal environment with good light, the leaves will adopt golden and reddish tones, and the plant will develop a more compact form of growth.
