Characteristics of Vesicularia Dubyana "Christmas Moss"
Christmas Moss refers to the appearance of the shoots, reminiscent of spruce branches. These are quite regular and densely covered with lateral branches. The fully developed “fronds” are triangular in outline and hang more or less when the plant is submerged.
Its approximately 90° leaves are arranged almost at an angle to the stem. Especially in the submerged plant, they are nearly round to broadly oval in shape and have a rather short, sharp, abruptly pointed tip. Leaf cells visible under the microscope are relatively broad and thin-walled.
Christmas Moss it can be grown submerged in a moist substrate and should offer interesting possibilities for the design of paludariums or moist terrariums.
