Echinodorus "Aflame"
Like most sword plants, nurseries deliver this species primarily in its terrestrial (emerged) form, with rather inconspicuous, longer-stemmed, often green leaves. Once planted in the aquarium, its submerged leaves will appear, showing all the splendor of this plant.
In addition, practically all Echinodorus, “Aflame” grow better with an abundant supply of macro and micronutrients through the substrate, which we can add in the form of tablets that we will bury at the base of the roots, under the substrate.
A fairly strong lighting is recommended for this variety if we want to enhance its intense red color. The water parameters are of secondary importance, however, the supply of CO2, as in all plants, promotes growth.
As a single plant or a small loose group, Echinodorus 'Aflame' provides a strong color accent in the middle zone and contrasts with light green plants. It can also be used as a solitary background plant in small aquariums.
