Characteristics of Rotala Rotundifolia "Fujian"
This form of Rotala rotundifolia was found in Fujian (Fukien) province in southeastern China. It has a stronger appearance than other varieties of Rotala rotundifolia; the underwater leaves are relatively broad and show slightly orange tones. Similar to “normal Rotala rotundifolia”, the growth is quite erect.
Like other forms of the variable Rotala rotundifolia, 'Fujian' is not very demanding and grows quickly. With fairly strong lighting and a good supply of CO2 and nutrients, it shows itself from its most beautiful side. Occasional pruning promotes stronger branching and a bushy growth pattern. Rotala rotundifolia 'Fujian' works well as a group in the middle and bottom of aquariums that are not too small.
