Es native to South American countries like Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica or Panama as a kind of miniature orchid. It is cold to hot growth, epiphyte in humid mountain forests and piedmont forests at elevations of 40 to 2000 meters. They sprout throughout the fall months, small flowers of greenish and yellow tones from the center of the leaves.

Pleurothallis Sclerophylla characteristics

All the mini orchids they are the distinctive result of crosses of small hybrids and naturally occurring species. This terrarium plant also can be easily tied as epiphyte without a pot with some sphagnum moss in the root ball.

Like its older sisters, a mini orchid is placed in the well-lit place of the terrarium or vivarium at warm temperatures of 20 to 26 degrees. Under LED lighting, these orchids can also be placed relatively close to the light source. Orchids are a colorful addition to any natural vivarium. Mostly epiphytic in nature, orchids are best anchored in wood or at the bottom of a tropical vivarium.
