Drosera Nidiformis profile
Drosera Nidiformis characteristics
Origin: Southwest coast of Australia
The nidiformis is a small species of sundew that has a special thickening at the end of the leaf. Here are the dewdrops to catch the insects. By nature, the plant is used to hibernation in the winter months. The plant does not continue to grow at this stage. When it is warmer, the plant resumes its growth.
Watered
It keeps the plant very moist. To make it really easy, a saucer of water can be placed under the plant. Complete this immediately as soon as it is empty.
Lighting design
Place the Sundew in a bright place. When the plant loses its dew, this is an indication that the plant needs more moisture. Move the plant to a more humid environment or place a glass on it.
Of the Droseras in our current range, Drosera filiformis, nidiformis and binata are all hardy. For the rest this does not apply and they must be brought inside before the onset of winter.
Fertilizer
Sundew does not need fertilizers.
