Drosera Madagascariensis file
Drosera Madagascariensis characteristics
Origin: Madagascar
As its name suggests, it occurs in Madagascar, among others. The leaves grow on a thin stem with the dewdrops with which it catches insects. Although the stem appears thin and fragile, it can grow up to 25 cm in height.
Watered
It keeps the plant very moist. To make it really easy, a saucer of water can be placed under the plant. Complete this immediately as soon as it is empty.
Lighting design
Place the Sundew in a bright place. When the plant loses its dew, this is an indication that the plant needs more moisture. Move the plant to a more humid environment or place a glass on it.
Of the Droseras in our current range, Drosera filiformis, nidiformis and binata are all hardy. For the rest this does not apply and they must be brought inside before the onset of winter.
Fertilizer
Sundew does not need fertilizers.
