Indian almond leaves and various barks are very popular due to their positive influence, and have been used in the hobby of the Aquarius for many years. Unfortunately, natural materials tend to release all active substances within a few days, and then remove them by changing the water, and they also break down during natural processes inside the aquarium. What remains is dead organic matter that slowly decomposes and is broken down by bacteria and other microorganisms over time. In addition, leaves and bark can stain the water considerably, something that is not consistent with all montages. Indian almond leaves are harvested from the Indian almond tree Terminalia catappa. They contain large amounts of different secondary phytochemicals such as flavonoids, humic acids (humic acid and fulvic acid), tannins, iridoids, pyrethroids, and saponins. It is known that you are substances they inhibit bacteria, prevent inflammation, help with tissue repair and slightly tan the mucous membranes of fish and reverse, making them more resistant. In addition, they increase the willingness to spawn in shrimp and ornamental fish, can prevent the spawning from becoming infected with fungi, and can have a supportive effect on the immune system in the case of infections. They even have the ability to bind toxic heavy metals in water, rendering them harmless, for good water quality.
Nature's way of protecting trees has been by providing them with bark, where their defenses against outside pathogens and parasites are concentrated. Various barks are traditionally used as medicines and care products, and with Leaves & Bark now they have been introduced into the aquarium hobby thanks to their many beneficial effects.
We use the bark of the African plum (Pygeum africanum), cat's claw (Uncaria tomentosa), lapacho (Tabebuia impetiginosa), oak (Quercus) and quebracho (Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco)).
These different crusts add, among other substances, tannins, humins, humic acids, calcium and magnesium. They are especially valued for having properties anti-inflammatory, but they can also have a positive influence on fertility, optimize the digestion of your aquarium animals, fight fungi and parasites, inhibit viruses and stimulate the immune system of the inhabitants of your aquarium.
Shake well immediately before use.
Weekly add 1 ml (approx. 12 drops) per 10 liters of aquarium water.
