Characteristics of Riccardia Chamedryfolia "Coral Moss"
There are several different types of Riccardi known in the aquarium world, labeled in the trade between Riccardi Chamedryfolia y Riccardia graeffei. However, the accuracy of its identification is not yet proven. That's why we use the name Riccardia sp. "Chamedryfolia". It develops quite firm, narrow and ascending branches that are branched in a more or less pinnate way.
The moss “Coral Moss” It is not very demanding, however, it grows better with at least medium lighting and a supply of CO2 and nutrients. Good lighting promotes highly branched compact cushions. Riccardi it can be glued, tied or simply filled in the cracks and gaps of the hardscape (rocks and woods). When the cushions have grown a lot, they will detach from their support sooner or later. Therefore, it is recommended to prune in time or, if this happens, to glue again.
Riccardia sp. "Chamedryfolia" can be used in different ways in Aquascaping to decorate wood and rocks. With its structure and slow growth, it is also an ideal choice for nano aquariums.
