Characteristics of Indian Almond Leaves 10 / 15cm Terminalia Catappa
The leaves of the Indian almond tree (Terminalia Catappa), being introduced into the water, release beneficial tannins for our invertebrates.
• They eliminate bacteria and fungi from our shrimp.
• Reduce the ph
• They provide food, both to shrimp and snails, since they will see in them a complementary contribution to their usual diet. We will see how little by little we only leave the nerves of the leaves.
• They provide hiding places for our prawns.
It should be remembered that prawns live in the backwaters of rivers, in areas where there is little or no current, and where food arrives in the form of fallen leaves and fruit.
• When falling into these backwaters, this organic matter decomposes, causing a large amount of algae and infusoria to proliferate around it.
• In general they are highly recommended for all types of aquariums.
Instructions for use:
Add a whole leaf for every 15-20 liters of aquarium water. It can be added directly to the interior of the aquarium (the leaves will float naturally for 2-3 days, then sink), or lightly crushed and placed in a mesh bag inside the filter compartment. The leaves begin to disintegrate after 3-4 weeks, but it is not necessary to extract them, unless it is for an aesthetic reason.
