For better identification, in Europe this plant is called Eriocaulon sp. "Japan Needle Leaf", however, it is not yet known whether this plant is actually found in nature in Japan, and whether it belongs to the genus Eriocaulon. What can be said for sure is that it belongs to the Eriocaulaceae family, as it shows the typical shape with many tiny flowers.

With its special and exotic appearance, this Eriocaulon looks good as a foreground plant or in a clear location.

The genus Eriocaulon has a wide distribution in the warm areas of Asia, Africa and Australia, where it can be found in humid and temporarily flooded places.
